Political relations

Bilateral relations are on an upward trend following the exchange of visits at the level of the Minister of Foreign Affairs. The Republic of Serbia is also committed to activities within regional organizations in which Antigua and Barbuda enjoys full membership – the Caribbean Community, the Association of Caribbean States, which represent a complementary channel of communication and create opportunities for further development of relations.

In October 2021, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Antigua and Barbuda E. P. Chet Greene has participated in the work of the High-Level Commemorative Meeting to mark the 60th anniversary of the First Conference of Non-Aligned Movement in Belgrade. Minister of Foreign Affairs of Serbia N. Selakovic had a bilateral meeting with Minister Greene during his stay in Belgrade.

The then First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs I. Dačić visited Antigua and Barbuda on 1 – 2 November 2018, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Antigua and Barbuda E. P. Chet Green visited Republic of Serbia from 21 to 24 February 2020.

 

Economic relations

Registered imports during 2020 amounted to 9,000 euros, as well as during 2019.

 

Bilateral agreements

The obligation to recognize the certification between the Government of Yugoslavia and the Government of Antigua and Barbuda according to regulation I/10 of the STCW Convention, was signed on 30 November 2001.

Memorandum of Understanding Between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Antigua and Barbuda on Friendship and Joint Cooperation was signed on October 12, 2021.
