Đurić with the Ambassador of China: The Strategic Partnership and Steel-Clad Friendship Between the Two Countries Are of Immeasurable Importance
Minister Đurić emphasized that there is a very high degree of convergence between the two countries on the most important current geopolitical issues, as well as on the position that priority in resolving crises and conflicts should be given to diplomatic means rather than unilateral actions and military force. He added that the Republic of Serbia and the People’s Republic of China jointly advocate for the consistent respect of the principles of the United Nations Charter, as well as for the strengthening of multilateralism. He expressed gratitude for China’s firm support for the respect of Serbia’s territorial integrity and sovereignty, adding that Serbia likewise strictly adheres to the One China policy and the territorial integrity of the country.
Both sides noted that the personal friendship and exceptionally strong relations between President Aleksandar Vučić and President Xi Jinping contribute to the enhancement of bilateral cooperation and the implementation of major infrastructure, construction, and energy projects in Serbia, as well as to projects of broader significance.
“I am convinced that this visit at the highest state level will be of historic importance for our country and that it will provide a strong impetus and contribution to the further strengthening of the outstanding strategic relations and even closer and more fruitful cooperation between Serbia and China across a wide range of fields,” Đurić assessed.
The head of Serbian diplomacy underscored the strong cooperation between the two countries in international forums, particularly within the United Nations, expressing satisfaction that he will soon have the opportunity to meet again in New York with Wang Yi.
Đurić also pointed out that Serbia attaches great importance to activities aimed at promoting the building of a Serbia-China Community with a Shared Future in the New Era, as well as to activities focused on jointly advancing the implementation of the four global initiatives — on development, security, civilization, and global governance.
