The First Vice-President of the Government of Serbia and Minister of Foreign Ivica Dačić with non-resident Ambassador of Zimbabwe

The officials agreed that both parties are interested in the enhancement of the political dialogue.  The Head of Serbian diplomacy Dačić underscored his conviction that the reopening of the Embassy of the Republic of Serbia in Harare would additionally strengthen brotherly relations of the two countries and contribute to the cooperation and dialogue at all levels. Furthermore, he expressed hope that Serbia would have an opportunity in the near future to host the President Emmerson Mnangagwa and the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Trade Frederick Shava.

He noted that the Government of Serbia was ready, in agreement with the Government of Zimbabwe, to specify the forms of cooperation and humanitarian aid to the brotherly nation of Zimbabwe, especially those necessary due to the consequences of climate change, droughts and floods, diseases, as well as the Covid 19 pandemic.

He pointed out that Serbia highly appreciated the principled position of the friendly Zimbabwe regarding the non-recognition of the unilaterally declared independence of the so-called “Kosovo”, which provided principled and consistent support to the preservation of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Serbia.

The Ambassador of Zimbabwe extended condolences over the recent tragic events in Belgrade and expressed compassion and solidarity with the families of the victims. She thanked for the warm and friendly welcome and expressed hope that both countries would have the opportunity to exchange visits at the high and top level in the near future.
