Jovanović confers with the Ambassador of Peru

The State Secretary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia, Nevena Jovanović, met today with the non-resident Ambassador of the Republic of Peru to the Republic of Serbia, based in Budapest, Edgard Pérez Alván.

During the cordial and open exchange, views were shared on the bilateral relations between the two countries, as well as on broader issues of importance to Serbia and Peru. The interlocutors expressed mutual satisfaction with the exceptionally friendly relations between the two states and reaffirmed their commitment to further enhancing cooperation in areas of common interest, including digitalization, science and technology, as well as cooperation in the field of sports.

The discussion also addressed the current geopolitical situation in the world in the context of contemporary challenges and crises. In this regard, particular emphasis was placed on the importance of consistent respect for the principles of international law and the United Nations Charter, as well as on the importance of preserving and strengthening multilateralism as a cornerstone of contemporary international order.

In this context, State Secretary Jovanović and Ambassador Pérez Alván reaffirmed their firm commitment to continuing mutual support within international organizations and forums on matters of importance to the Republic of Serbia and the Republic of Peru.
