Đurić confers with Director of the State Secretariat for Economic Affairs of the Swiss Confederation
Minister Đurić emphasized the importance of Switzerland’s support for Serbia’s reform processes, as well as its financial assistance to numerous joint cooperation programs, especially in the domain of scientific and technological research and innovation.
He noted that Serbia has, over the past decade, ensured economic stability, doubled its GDP growth, and created a favorable environment for foreign investment.
The discussion highlighted that economic cooperation between Serbia and Switzerland has been continuously advancing in recent years, as evidenced by significant Swiss investments in Serbia. The Minister also noted the increasing presence of Serbian companies in the Swiss market, pointing out that Switzerland ranks among the top three destinations for Serbian capital investments abroad.
Speaking about the potential for further cooperation, Minister Đurić identified modern technologies as one of the key areas for future engagement. He expressed gratitude to Switzerland for its support of flagship projects such as the construction of the BIO4 Campus – a multidisciplinary scientific research center – and the development of science and technology parks in Niš and Čačak.
The meeting particularly underscored Switzerland’s significant role in the field of dual education, as demonstrated by the joint organization of the First Serbia–Switzerland Innovation Forum, held in Belgrade at the end of last year.
Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to further developing economic cooperation and discussed the possibility of organizing a joint business forum in the near future to further stimulate ties between the business communities of the two countries.
Minister Đurić welcomed Switzerland’s confirmation of its participation in EXPO 2027 in Belgrade, underscoring it as an additional incentive to deepen cooperation and promote innovation, sustainable development, and economic relations between the two countries.
