USEFUL INFORMATION

HEALTH SITUATION — Healthcare is available on the islands of New Providence and Grand Bahamas. Emergency medical care on these islands is relatively good. Travel insurance is necessary. Current information on the health situation in the country can be found on the World Health Organization website https://www.who.int/countries/bhs/.

SECURITY SITUATION — The highest number of crimes occur in New Providence (Nassau) and the island of Grand Bahamas (New Providence and Grand Bahamas). However, the majority of violent crimes and sexual assaults rarely happen in the tourist zones.

TRANSPORT — Public transport on the island is by minibus and taxi. The price of transport is agreed upon with the drivers. Foreigners and Serbian citizens may drive in the Bahamas for a period of up to three months if they have a national driver's licence along with an international driving permit. Note: driving in the Bahamas is on the left-hand side.

OTHER — Currency: Bahamian Dollar (BSD).
