ENTERING AND LEAVING THE COUNTRY
Citizens of the Republic of Serbia do not require a visa when travelling to Georgia for a stay of up to 365 days as of the date of first entry. Since the Embassy of Georgia covers the Republic of Serbia on a non-residential basis from Greece, citizens of the Republic of Serbia should contact the Embassy in Athens. Up to 30,000 lari (approximately EUR 15,000) can be brought into/out of Georgia.
The import and export of hunting weapons, precious objects or art, pets and other animals requires special permits.
Food weighing of up to 5 kg, and with a value of up to 200 lari (approximately EUR 100) may be imported. It is also permitted to import items for personal use, up to 50 kg in weight, and with a value of up to 300 lari (approximately EUR 150), or up to 1500 lari (approximately EUR 750) if travelling by air.
Up to 3 litres of alcoholic beverages and 200 packs of cigarettes may be imported and/or exported.
Having a travel health insurance policy is desirable.

No social security agreement has been signed.
USEFUL INFORMATION
SECURITY SITUATION – The overall security situation in the country is good. The telephone number for medical emergencies is 112. Foreign nationals may only enter the territory of Abkhazia or South Ossetia from the territory of Georgia, from the district of Zugdidi to Abkhazia and from the district of Gori to South Ossetia. Direct entry to the above territories from any other state is considered illegal.
TRANSPORT – International airports in Georgia are found in Tbilisi, Senaki, Batumi and Kutaisi.
All major cities and regional centres are connected by a rail network.
The main roads are good, but their sections in mountainous areas are in an inferior state. A vehicle registration permit and driver’s licence is required for travelling with a passenger vehicle. Serbian driver's licences issued on the new form are recognised for a duration of up to one year as of the date of entering the territory of Georgia. After the expiry of this period the licence may be exchanged for a Georgian one without retaking the test, but with the period of validity of the licence itself. If the owner of the vehicle is not travelling along, it is necessary to have a certified authorisation in the English language. A green card is not required.
OTHER – The national currency is the lari (GEL). Money is exchanged in banks and exchange offices. The cost of living and price of service are lower than in Serbia.
