USEFUL INFORMATION

HEALTH SITUATION — No vaccination is mandatory. However, vaccination against hepatitis A is recommended. 

SECURITY SITUATION — The security situation in the Republic of Uzbekistan is stable. There is, however, a permanent possibility of escalation of the conflict with Kyrgyzstan (Fergana Valley). The main forms of crime against foreign tourists are pickpocketing and theft.

TRANSPORT — The main airport is located in Tashkent. There are direct flights to/from London, Birmingham, Athens, Amsterdam, Frankfurt, Moscow, Paris, Beijing, Bangkok, Dhaka, New Delhi, Istanbul, New York, Seoul, and Tel Aviv. The road network is developed but neglected.

OTHER INFORMATION — The national currency is the sum (UZS).
Although cash payments are most common, all types of credit cards are accepted (Visa, Master, American Express, etc.).
Hotel accommodation is mainly available in Tashkent, Bukhara, and Samarkand.
