Political relations

Bilateral relations are traditionally friendly. They are characterized by a high degree of mutual understanding and closeness of positions in relation to the key international issues. There is a mutual interest in further enhancing the dialogue and overall bilateral cooperation.

The then President of the Republic of Serbia, Tomislav Nikolić, attended the inauguration ceremony of the former President of the Republic of Argentina, Mauricio Macri, on 10 December 2015.

The Prime Minister of the Republic of Serbia Ana Brnabić attended the inauguration ceremony of the President of the Republic of Argentina Alberto Fernández, on 10 December 2019.

The then First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ivica Dačić paid an official visit to the Republic of Argentina on 25 – 26 November 2014. He also visited the Republic of Argentina on 22 – 23 November 2017 on the occasion of the opening of the Republic of Serbia Square in Buenos Aires, and in 20 – 22 March 2019, he attended the second UN High-Level Conference on South-South Cooperation in Buenos Aires.

In October 2021, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Argentina P. Tettamanti has participated in the work of the High-Level Commemorative Meeting to mark the 60th anniversary of the First Conference of Non-Aligned Movement in Belgrade. Minister of Foreign Affairs of Serbia N. Selakovic had a bilateral meeting with Deputy Minister Tettamanti during his stay in Belgrade.

Economic relations

In 2021, the trade exchange amounted to 22.96 million euros (our exports 8.76 million, and imports 14.20 million euros). In 2020, the exchange amounted to 20.09 million euros (our export was 6.12 million, and our import was 13.97 million).

Bilateral agreements

Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Serbia and the Government of the Republic of Argentina on cooperation in the field of veterinary medicine, signed on 10 May 2010 (The Official Gazette of the Republic of SerbiaInternational Treaties No. 12/10)
