Mongolia

Political relations

Serbian-Mongolian relations are traditionally good and friendly. The then Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia, Ivan Mrkić, visited Mongolia in April 2013, while the then Minister of Foreign Affairs of Mongolia, L. Bold, paid an official visit to the Republic of Serbia in November 2013.

The then Minister of Foreign Affairs of Mongolia, L. Purevsuren, participated in the OSCE Ministerial Council meeting in December 2015, during which he held talks with the then First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia, Ivica Dačić. On the sidelines of the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York in September 2025, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia, Marko Đurić, met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Mongolia, Battsetseg Batmunkh.

Economic relations

There is potential for improving economic cooperation between the Republic of Serbia and Mongolia. According to data from the Statistical Office of the Republic of Serbia, the total trade exchange with Mongolia in 2025 amounted to €9.0 million, of which €9.0 million referred to exports from the Republic of Serbia and €9 thousands to imports.

Bilateral agreements

• Agreement on Cultural and Scientific Cooperation between the Federal Executive Council of the Assembly of the Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia (SFRY) and the Government of the Mongolian People's Republic, signed on 21 June 1985, published in the Official Gazette of the SFRY – International Treaties, No. 1/87;

• Agreement between the Government of the SFRY and the Government of the Mongolian People's Republic on the Provision of Economic and Technical Assistance to the Mongolian People's Republic, signed on 21 June 1985;

• Programme of Cultural Cooperation between the Federal Executive Council of the Assembly of the SFRY and the Government of the Mongolian People's Republic for 1989, 1990 and 1991, signed on 15 October 1989, published in the Official Gazette of the SFRY – International Treaties;

• Payments Agreement between the SFRY and the Mongolian People's Republic, signed on 15 November 1990, published in the Official Gazette of the SFRY – International Treaties, No. 7/91;

• Agreement on Trade and Economic Cooperation between the Republic of Serbia and Mongolia, signed on 23 September 2021, which entered into force on 12 January 2022;

• Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Serbia and the Government of Mongolia on Cooperation in the Field of Education, signed on 7 September 2022;

• Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Serbia and the Government of Mongolia on the Mutual Abolition of Visa Requirements for Holders of Diplomatic and Official Passports, signed on 26 September 2025, which entered into force on 30 January 2026.
