Bern: Ambassador Bradić visited the Switzerland Innovation Park

Ambassador of the Republic of Serbia in Bern Goran Bradić visited the Switzerland Innovation Park Biel/Bienne AG, located in Biel, not far from Bern.

Head of one of the four research institutes (SSF/Swiss Smart Factory) Dominic Gorecky acquainted Ambassador Bradić with the most important activities and goals of that scientific, educational, and production centre.

Ambassador Bradić expressed his desire to further strengthen cooperation between the scientific and research centres of the two countries, as well as to practically apply the achievements in the field of artificial intelligence and new technologies in production, medicine, and robotics.

Ambassador Bradić pointed out that four science and technology parks were working in Serbia - in Belgrade, Čačak, Novi Sad, and Niš – and that the construction of the first two parks was co-financed by the Swiss Federal Government.

Ambassador Bradić underlined that the Agreement on the Establishment of the World Economic Forum Centre for the Fourth Industrial Revolution in Serbia, the first of its kind in the Western Balkans, was signed in Geneva, at the headquarters of the World Economic Forum (WEF) five months ago. He echoed the fact that Prime Minister of Serbia Ana Brnabić and the founder, as well as the Executive Director of the World Economic Forum Klaus Schwab and Borge Brende, attended the ceremony.                                        

Dominic Gorecky thanked Ambassador Bradić for the information he presented about the “BIO 4” Campus Project in Belgrade, expressing his interest in exchanging information and establishing cooperation on the specific projects.

Ambassador Bradić, together with Consul Ana Kontić and Serbian-Swiss entrepreneur Zoran Vranić, visited the institutes within the Innovation Park, dealing with research in the field of medicine, car batteries, laser production of metal-based additives, as well as interdisciplinary communication and robotics.

There are 500 researchers, experts, and students working in the Innovation Park in Biel.
