First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ivica Dačić meets with the Minister of Defence of Cyprus

First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Serbia Ivica Dačić met today with Minister of Defence of the Republic of Cyprus Charalambos Petrides, who is paying an official three-day visit to Serbia.

In a cordial conversation, Minister Dačić and Minister Petrides expressed mutual support to the support and territorial integrity of the two countries.

They agreed that the challenges facing the two countries largely overlapped, and that a joint approach was necessary in order to successfully overcome them.

Minister Dačić expressed his gratitude for the support that the Republic of Cyprus was providing to the Republic of Serbia in the matter of Kosovo and Metohija in all international forums, as well as for Cyprus’ support to Serbia on its EU path.

Minister Dačić and Minister Petrides agreed that there was a great potential for developing the cooperation between the two friendly countries, not only in the field of defence but also in the fields on economy, science, tourism and sports, and that they would make active efforts to intensify the cooperation in all fields of mutual interest in the upcoming period.
