Kozarev confers with the Secretary General of the Association of Caribbean States
Both sides expressed satisfaction with the current dynamics of cooperation and reaffirmed their readiness to further enhance it. They also exchanged views on current regional and global issues, as well as on new opportunities for deepening partnership.
Kozarev emphasized that Serbia, as an observer in the Association of Caribbean States, attaches particular importance to this organization in terms of jointly addressing global challenges and strengthening our ties with this part of the world. Speaking about foreign policy priorities, he underlined that Serbia remains committed to preserving peace and stability and safeguarding its territorial integrity and sovereignty, while continuing to be a sincere friend to the countries of the Caribbean.
Secretary-General Madrid noted the engagement of Minister Marko Đurić in the Caribbean region, reflected in his regular participation in meetings of regional initiatives there, as well as in the assistance Serbia provides to individual countries and organizations. She expressed gratitude for the support provided thus far and voiced hope that the Serbian delegation would be able to participate in the upcoming Ministerial Meeting of the Association in Panama. She also announced that the General Assembly of the Organization of American States would be held during the same period, recalling that last year the Serbian Minister of Foreign Affairs participated in the gathering as the only European minister.
The interlocutors assessed that Expo 2027 will represent an excellent opportunity for the rich and diverse culture and traditions, as well as the significant potential of the Caribbean community, to be presented to the world in Belgrade.
