Đurić Confers with Azerbaijan’s Foreign Minister

Minister Đurić noted that relations between Serbia and Azerbaijan are founded on traditional friendship, mutual trust and respect for the fundamental principles of international law, emphasising that Serbia regards Azerbaijan as a reliable partner in building long-term strategic relations.

As a reflection of the intensive political dialogue between the two countries, Đurić recalled the official visit of President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev to Belgrade in February this year, as well as the regular personal contacts between President Aliyev and President of the Republic of Serbia Aleksandar Vučić. He added that these exchanges, together with the inaugural meeting of the Strategic Partnership Council between the two countries, provide important impetus to the further advancement of bilateral cooperation.

The interlocutors also highlighted the importance of the direct Belgrade–Baku air service launched in May this year, noting that it is already contributing to closer connectivity between the two countries and their capitals.

The meeting also provided an opportunity to exchange views on current issues, with Minister Đurić underscoring the importance of maintaining close coordination and an open exchange of views on matters of mutual interest.
