Đurić confers with  Delegation of the French Institut de Formation Politique on Serbia’s Foreign Policy Priorities

31. Oct 2025.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia, Marko Đurić, received today a delegation from the French Institut de Formation Politique, which is currently on a study visit to Serbia.

Minister Đurić presented to the delegation of young leaders, headed by the Institute’s Director Alexandre Pesey, the key foreign policy priorities of Serbia, emphasizing that the preservation of peace and stability in the region, European integration, and the development of partnerships with all countries constitute the foundations of Serbia’s diplomatic engagement.

He underlined that Serbia pursues an independent, balanced, and responsible foreign policy, based on the principles of military and political neutrality, which enables it to simultaneously build constructive relations with partners across the globe.

Speaking about the geopolitical position of Serbia, Minister Đurić highlighted that the country consistently implements a policy of peace, dialogue, and regional stability, and is committed to deepening cooperation throughout the Western Balkans. He noted that a stable and economically interconnected region is a prerequisite for development and a better quality of life for all citizens.

Referring to the issue of Kosovo and Metohija, Đurić stressed that it represents the most fundamental state and national question, as well as the greatest challenge Serbia faces. He reaffirmed Belgrade’s firm commitment to dialogue under the auspices of the European Union, while pointing out that Pristina’s persistent obstruction and unwillingness to seek a compromise-based solution remain the main obstacles to progress.

The Serbian Foreign Minister also drew attention to the importance of preserving cultural identity and to Serbia’s ongoing efforts in developing and improving its demographic policy, emphasizing that these priorities are an inseparable part of the state’s long-term vision and the foundation for the country’s future development.

Minister Đurić responded to numerous questions from the young leaders, who showed great interest in Serbia’s foreign policy orientation, its regional role, and relations with the European Union and other international partners.

The delegation of the French Institut de Formation Politique stayed in Serbia for five days, during which they held meetings with state officials and representatives of the civil sector. As part of their visit, the members of the delegation also traveled to Kosovo and Metohija, where they were informed about the current situation and the challenges faced by the Serbian community in the southern province.

The Institut de Formation Politique, founded in 2004, is dedicated to educating young people who aspire to play an active role in politics, media, and public life, promoting the values of responsibility, tradition, and freedom of thought.
