First DPM and MF Dačić with representatives of the Group of Francophone Ambassadors

First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia Ivica Dačić met today with representatives of the Group of Francophone Ambassadors.

The discussion was focused on the possibilities of improving Serbia's cooperation with the International Organisation of La Francophonie, including through the Group of Francophone Ambassadors (GAF).

Minister Dačić emphasised the commitment of the Republic of Serbia to the values ​​of La Francophonie - the promotion of peace, democracy, human rights, intercultural cooperation, dialogue, and solidarity, including Serbia’s determination to become a full member of this organization. He also pointed to a series of concrete steps taken by the Republic of Serbia towards that goal.

Minister Dačić informed representatives of the Group of Francophone Countries that he will lead the delegation of the Republic of Serbia at the upcoming ministerial conference and the 18th Francophonie Summit in Djerba, Tunisia, on 19–20 November 2022, and that Serbia will present its cultural and artistic program at the “Village of Francophonie” manifestation, held in parallel.

Representatives of GAF proposed initiatives that could contribute to Serbia’s greater visibility in the International Organization of La Francophonie, and to achieving its full membership in this organization, as well as to give greater visibility and legitimacy to La Francophonie in the Serbian public.
