Political relations
Bilateral relations between the two countries are good and without open issues. They are characterized by mutually expressed readiness to promote dialogue and cooperation in all fields of common interest.
The then First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ivica Dačić paid a bilateral visit to Paraguay in March 2019.
Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia Marko Đurić visited Asunción in late June 2024 to attend the 54th OAS General Assembly.
On 25 September 2025, on the sidelines of the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia Marko Đurić met with Paraguay’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Rubén Ramírez Lezcano.
Secretary-General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia D. Kozarev visited Asunción on 9 December 2025, where he met with Víctor Alfredo Verdún Bitar and Patricia Frutos, Paraguay’s Deputy Ministers of Foreign Affairs responsible for political and economic cooperation, respectively.
On 8 February 2026, on the sidelines of the World Governments Summit in Dubai, Prime Minister of the Republic of Serbia Đuro Macut met with President of the Republic of Paraguay Santiago Peña.
On 4 February 2026, on the final day of the international conference “EducAItion 2026” in Jerusalem, Secretary-General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia D. Kozarev met with Paraguay’s Minister of Education and Science, Luis Fernando Ramírez.
Economic relations
According to data from the Statistical Office of the Republic of Serbia, the total trade exchange with Paraguay in 2025 amounted to €1.3 million, of which €438 thousands referred to exports from the Republic of Serbia and €906 thousands to imports.
