Upon an invitation of the Member of the Parliament of the Czech Republic and Chairman of the Committee on Agriculture Michal Kučera, Ambassador of the Republic of Serbia to Czech Republic Berislav Vekić attended the meeting on the topic of the parliamentary cooperation between Serbia and Czech Republic, which was held in the Parliament of the Czech Republic.

Mr. Kučera presented the scope of work and projects that the Committee on Agriculture of the the Czech Republic wanted to launch. He emphasised that the Committee should be a regional hub for exchange of knowledge and experience between various stakeholders, not only in the field of agriculture, but also in the field of environment, forestry and water management.

Mr. Kučera highlighted the parliamentary cooperation with countries of the Visegrád Group, stressing that they wished to also involve countries from our region, primarily Serbia.

Ambassador Vekić talked about the excellent cooperation between the two governments and the relationship between President of Serbia Aleksandar Vučić and President of the Czech Republic Miloš Zeman.

He presented the results of Serbian agricultural and food industry compared to the total export, as well as the data on the structure of the export into countries and regions to which most of the export was directed. The results so far in the trade between the two countries in the field of agriculture were particularly emphasised.

Ambassador Vekić highlighted the importance of connecting Czech and Serbian companies, and proposed that the first meeting of the two Parliamentary committees be organised in the spring 2023.
